Trouble Identifying Crash Victim
Columbia police are having a difficult time identifying a crash victim.  It happened at the corner of Garth and Worley, when a driver crashed his car into a telephone pole round 1:30am Friday morning.  He was just barely conscious when officers reached the scene.  As of early this morning, hey still don't know who he is, but they are saying alcohol was probably a factor.

Copper Stolen from Future Fire Dept. Site
Some criminals are getting away with stealing $20,000 worth of copper from the future site of the Columbia Fire Department on Green Meadows Road.  The copper was going to be used for circuit wiring in the building.  Leon Keller, Vice President of Meyer Electric says the 22 spools arrived to the construction site on Monday, it was taken overnight.  While the loss would usually push back the completion date of the project, the fire department is still scheduled to open in November.  The Columbia Police Department's Major Crimes Unit is reveiwing the case, but as of now there are no strong leads.
