KJAB Christian Radio - 100,000 Watts of Gospel Power!
In May of 2010, the FCC granted KJAB Christian Radio at 88.FM a construction permit to increase its power to 100kW. This would make us one of the largest Christian radio stations in Missouri to air Southern Gospel music and Bluegrass Gospel and stream live on the Internet. Isn't this exciting news?
How did this happen? I thought KJAB had expanded as far as possible?
We thought that, too. Our engineers have told us that for several years. Changes took place in the non-commercial band when Public Television (TV channel six) went to a digital signal. This opened up a huge space in the non-commercial frequency of which we were not aware. In the Fall of 2010, the Lord nudged us to investigate the possibility of expansion. We were shocked when we learned the Lord had opened the door for us to go to 100kW and spread the Gospel thru Christian radio even farther.
What will this cost to bring you Southern Gospel/Bluegrass Gospel radio?
Reaching folks with the Gospel always takes money. In order to bring you Southern and Bluegrass Gospel radio, we have estimated our cost to be $109,500. We have asked for 109 churches/individuals to pledge to give $1000 before our completion date of May 2013. Some individuals have made pledges for larger and some for smaller amounts. Many give monthly. Those who listen to our live stream, our Internet listeners, like to give monthly, also.
How much still needs to be raised?
Below is a table showing how much is left to be raised. This is updated as the pledges and offerings come in. Check it out from time to time and see how we are doing.

How far will KJAB reach?
The population study done by our engineer revealed that KJAB at 88.FM will increase our potential listening audience from 480,000 to 1.7 million people. What an opportunity!
Below is a map of our estimated coverage. These are only estimates. Some places will be stronger or weaker depending on competing signals, terrain, or construction materials.
